Jul. 10—The Captains had an answer every time Fort Wayne pulled ahead in the cap to their road trip on July 10.

A three-run home run by Alexfri Planez in the eighth proved to be the difference maker as Lake County went on to win, 5-2.

The Tin Caps homered in the bottom of the third and sixth innings to take the lead. But both times, Johnathan Rodriguez came through tie the game with home runs to left field in the fourth and seventh innings.

Then in the top of the eighth, Alexfri Planez came to bat with runners on first and second. With the count full, Planez also sent the ball to deep left for his 11th home run of the season and put the Captains ahead for good.

Trevor Mace put together a solid outing as he went 5 2/3 innings, allowed only three hits and struck out six.

The Captains return to Classic Park on July 12 and welcome Dayton for the start of their six-game set. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
