“This is my first participation (in the car race). When I heard that there is a car race for women, I took it up as a challenge and told myself why not? People in Algeria think that women don’t have good driving skills. That is why we want to show them that we can do it. We have to start this challenge as Algerian and Arab women, and other women will follow. We have to show them that Algerian women can do everything.”
Dozens of women participated in the race that lasted for five days
With a speed limit of 50 miles per hour, the competition aims to promote safe driving
