Commemorative 175th T-shirts

The 175th Jubilee Committee is now selling commemorative T-shirts with the 175th logo on them. Shirts come in blue or green with sizes small to extra large for $15 and 2XL for $16.

Other sizes may be ordered if needed. Payment may be made by cash or check.

Pre-K Screening

Children ages 3-5 are encouraged to get screened. This screening will help to determine if a child would benefit from early childhood classes.

Parents that have their children screen are under no obligation to sign the child up for school. If interested in having a child screened, call the Highland Primary office to schedule an appointment.

Scheduling times and dates are as follows:

  • 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 22

  • 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 18

4-H Ice Cream Social

The Morning Glories and Cloverbuds 4-H leaders and current members invite all young people between the ages of 5-18 and their parents to attend and ice cream social on Monday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Alhambra Township Park.

Come hear about the activities club members enjoy and how much they learn from each other’s activities.

Are you interested in computers, flowers,sewing, painting, photography, calligraphy, animals and many more programs that are available through 4-H? Join the fun with no obligation to join. Just see everything available to those who would enjoy a hobby and make new friends.

Morning Glories are for ages 8-18, and Cloverbuds are ages 5-7. Both groups meet at the same time.

Salem Church Vacation Bible School

Salem VBS will be held Sunday mornings from Aug. 6 thru Sept. 3.

Children are invited to attend Salem Church at 9 a.m. After the “Time with Children” at 9:15 a.m. they will go to the Sunday School for Vacation Bible School.

This year’s theme is Food Truck Party: On a Roll with God.

The annual Corn Roast is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Alhambra Park.

All food, including dessert and bottled water, will be provided.
