Kindergarten 2024-2025 Pre-Registration

Any child in the Alhambra, Grantfork or New Douglas area that will be age 5 by Sept. 1, 2024, may be pre-registered for school by phone by calling Alhambra Primary 618-488-2200.

Registrations by phone will be Feb. 20-23.

175th Commemorative Pins for Sale

The Alhambra 175th committee is selling beautiful gold and black commemorative pins.

Each pin has the village logo and is overprinted with “175th Anniversary.”

Pins may be purchased from the Alhambra-Grantfork Telephone Company or by calling Deb Reckman at 618-531-1516.

Pins are $5 each or five for $20. Consider purchasing a beautiful keepsake to pass down through the generations.

PTO Drive-Thru Spaghetti Dinner

The Center School PTO will have their second annual Drive-Thru Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser 2-7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Alhambra Primary.

Each carryout-style dinner will include a generous helping of spaghetti in meat sauce, garden salad, roll and dessert for $10.

Proceeds will be used to fund new playground equipment, field trips and classroom needs.

Alhambra Community Club

The February meeting of the Community Club started off meetings for the year as there was no January meeting.

Members voted to donate to the 175th Anniversary for the village.

The yearly scholarship given to a graduating Highland High School senior was discussed.

Anyone interested in applying for the scholarship should ask at the school office for the scholarship application.

Applications may be mailed to Marilyn Eyman, P.O. Box 186, Alhambra, IL. 62001.

Jaycee Pickle Races

The Alhambra Jaycees will host Pickle Races as a fund drive for the Shriners Hospital on Saturday, March 23, 6:30-11:00 p.m.

The fun and very worthwhile event will be held at the Alhambra Township Park in the Firemen Legion building.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the first races begin at 7 p.m.

Throughout the evening there will be 50/50 drawings, vibrator races, Big 6 Wheel, cooler of booze and lotto board raffles.
