Ali Wong and Steven Yeun Are Starring Together in Netflix's New 'Beef'

Steven Yeun and Ali Wong are starring together in the Netflix comedy-drama, “Beef.” About the show so far: "Beef" was pitched around a week ago, stirring a "frenzy" amongst the top streaming platforms. Deadline announced that Netflix won the rights to the show.
The series will consist of 10 30-minute long episodes following Yeun and Wong’s characters "who let a road rage incident burrow into their minds and slowly consume their every thought and action."
Lee Sung Jin is the show’s creator, show-runner and executive producer. Previous works of his include “Dave,” “Tuca & Bertie” and HBO’s “Silicon Valley.”
“Ali Wong, Steven Yeun, A24 and Netflix. It’s a dream team, and I’m honored to be collaborating with them,” Lee told Deadline.
Lee will be producing the series with Yeun through his company Universal Remote, as well as Wong and A24, the studio behind the six-time Oscar-nominated film “Minari.”
“I’m also grateful to the guy who yelled at me in traffic three years ago. I did not let it go, and now we have a show,” Lee added.
About the cast: Yeun and Wong have previously worked together on "Tuca & Bertie," the adult animated comedy that Lee co-created in 2019, Harper's Bazaar reported.
"Beef" will be Yeun’s first major live-action television show since starring as Glenn Rhee in AMC’s "Walking Dead" in 2016.
Ali Wong previously starred in Netflix 2019 rom-com “Always Be My Maybe” as well as her hit Netflix comedy specials “Baby Cobra" and "Hard-Knock Wife." Prior to that, she was also a writer for "Fresh Off the Boat."
Yeun also made headlines earlier last week when he became the first Asian American to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor, for his performance in “Minari.” Featured Image via Getty
