Alix Earle may be great at doing her makeup and telling a good story, but the girl also knows how to make herself literally glow on camera. The trick is all in her lighting. However, she doesn’t have some fancy studio or a giant ring light. TikTok’s “It girl” shared she uses a simple clip-on light from Amazon that’s less than $40.
While she isn’t the only creator on the platform to use it, the Newmowa Rechargeable Clip-On Video Light has since been dubbed the “Alix Earle light.” Another creator, @blazepresleyy, recently shared she ordered the popular light and in a video of her own, showed the difference it can make in your appearance on camera. With the light on, Presley’s hair looks shinier, her skin more glowy and even her eyes seem to sparkle. In other words, it makes you look extra stunning.
You can clip the light onto your phone, laptop or wherever you plan to go on camera. If you’re not into making TikToks, you could also use this for important Zoom meetings at your desk job. Good lighting can make your surroundings look more professional, even if you work from your mom’s basement. Additionally, you can use it to take photos and videos at night.
The light is battery-operated and rechargeable. It has three light modes (from bright white to warm yellow) and 10 brightness levels. It’s also small and lightweight — it’s smaller than an iPhone actually. You’re bound to find your perfect lighting with it no matter where you take it, and when you do, you’ll be glad you bought this little light.
