Allegheny County Board of Health OKs changes to food-safety regulations, permit fees

The Allegheny County of Board of Health approved major revisions to the Allegheny County Health Department’s food-safety regulations and fee schedule that could take effect on Jan. 1, 2023.

The revisions take into account changes to the food landscape, including food trucks and shared kitchens, that have taken place over the last two decades. They also bring Allegheny County’s food safety regulations into better alignment with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines.
