PORT CHARLOTTE — Guests will soon be able to take in views of the Peace River and Charlotte Harbor during a stay at the highly anticipated Allegiant Travel Company Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor, as the $585 million waterfront property shared images of the luxury resort in central Charlotte County.

Set to open to the public later this year, the Sunseeker Resort will be a 22-acre waterfront complex with over 60,000 square feet of meeting space and featuring seven restaurants, 11 bars and lounges, and a 25,000-square-foot food hall.

The project is expected to open before the end of the year and is now accepting guest reservations.

Technology at the resort includes a mobile check-in and check-out, as well as a mobile room key and guest app that will be able to filter housekeeping requests, valet, onsite reservations, food hall takeout and more. Guest rooms come with a digital display that controls privacy settings, lighting, and temperature and over 2,000 streaming options to the guestroom television.

“Our entire team eagerly awaits the opportunity to welcome guests, ” said Sunseeker Resort President and Chief Operating Officer Micah Richins. “With personalized experiences built upon delivering a level of service that exceeds expectations and dynamic culinary offerings unlike anything along the Southwest coast, this project represents the culmination of our efforts to create a resort that will undeniably enhance the hospitality experience in Florida and beyond.”

Though construction of the 785-room property has been halted twice since its 2019 groundbreaking, once due to the COVID-19 pandemic and again following Hurricane Ian in September 2022, once completed, Sunseeker Resort will be the first newly-built resort with over 750 rooms in Southwest Florida in 13 years.

The Las Vegas-based Allegiant airline has vastly expanded service to from Tampa to Fort Myers over the past decade, including flights to Sarasota and Punta Gorda, which is six miles from the resort. Allegiant started service at Punta Gorda Airport in 2009 and reported that last year, more than 1.8 million passengers traveled to and from the area via the airline.
