Allenstown teen, 16, seriously injured in snowmobile crash

Jan. 23—An Allenstown teen suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in a snowmobile accident Sunday morning in Chichester, officials said.

Around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, conservation officers with New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to reports of a single snowmobile crash involving a male operator on private property in Chichester.

Conservation officers said Nick McLaughlin, 16, of Allenstown, was operating a snowmobile when he failed to negotiate a turn, lost control and struck a tree.

McLaughlin, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, sustained serious non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to Concord Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Officials believe inexperience was a primary factor.
