Alliance churches plan Lenten worship events

The Alliance of Churches, a network of churches and Christian leaders in the Alliance area, plans a series of worship services during Lent.

The events will be 7 p.m., and will be held each Sunday of Lent, plus a closing service on Good Friday. Events will run Feb. 18 through March 24, plus March 29.

The community is invited to attend the events, and many Alliance-area churches will be taking part either as hosts or by participating in music or religious service.

The theme for 2024 is "Journey to the Cross," with passages drawn from the Gospel of Luke beginning in chapter 9:51 ("As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem." NIV) and continuing through the events of Holy Week.

A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow each Sunday evening service. Please contact Pastor Jonathan Truax at 330-823-3439 for any questions.
