Alliance Elks Lodge 467 has announced its October Teenagers of the Month. Students are selected by their respective schools based on scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship, and service to school and community.

Alliance

Abiegail Thomas – The daughter of Kristine and Todd Thomas is a member of the soccer and track teams, Student Senate, Student Council and the pre-medical professions career class. She plans to attend University of Mount Union and study pre-medicine.

Jayson Reed – The son of Marysol Ramirez is a member of the tennis team, Jetsetters, and the marching, concert and jazz bands. He plans to attend college and major in chemical engineering while playing in his school’s marching and concert bands.

Louisville

Kalli Spehar – The daughter of Michelle Spehar plays on the school’s lacrosse team, and holds a school record. She is a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, Key Club, Jo's Mentors, Spirit Club, Wendy's Crew, and is a four-year scholar athlete. Spehar plans to attend college to major in nursing or chemistry, hoping to become a physician’s assistant.

Robert Davis – The son of Robert and Gina Davis is a member of the golf team and Student Council. He plans to attend Florida Gulf Coast University and study computer engineering or aviation.

Marlington

Ava Collins – The daughter of Michael and Tammy Collins is captain of the soccer and softball teams, and also plays basketball. She is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Character Counts, Rotary Interact Club, and is a Duke Crew leader. Collins plans to attend college and hopes to eventually become an anesthesiologist.

Connor Battershell – The son of Mike and Jeanine Battershell is captain of the golf team. He is a member of National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Rotary Interact Club, Character Counts, Robotics Club, Spanish Club, and is a Duke Crew leader. Battershell was a Buckeye Boys State delegate. He plans to attend college to study electrical engineering.

Minerva

Calee Lukowski – The daughter of Mark and Dawn Lukowski is on the golf and bowling teams. She is president of National Honor Society, and a member of Student Council, International Circle, SADD, 4-H, Prom Committee, and spring and fall plays and musicals. Lukowski plans to attend college to major in English literature with plans to work in editing and publishing books.

Micah Packard – The son of Chris and Elizabeth Packard is in marching, jazz and symphony bands. He is a member of Chess Club, Debate Club and Student Council. Packard plans to attend University of Akron University to study computer engineering.

Sebring

Mallory Harshman – The daughter of Mike and Kristi Harshman plays volleyball, basketball and softball. She is a class officer; member of National Honor Society, Language Club, Ecology Club and Spirit Crew while serving as the videographer for boys varsity and JV basketball. Harshman plans to attend Kent State University to study nursing.

Jacob Smith – The son of Chad Smith plays baseball and golf, and also is in the band. He is a member of National Honor Society. Smith plans to attend Youngstown State University to study computer science.

St. Thomas

Maria Walsh – The daughter of Neil and Patricia Walsh plays volleyball and is a member of Key Club, Student Council, and Stage Crew. She is an altar server. Walsh plans to attend Walsh University, but is undecided on her major.

Andr'as Lane – The son of Todd and Andrea Lane plays basketball and in the band. He is a member of National Honor Society, volunteers with STA Basketball Camp for Kids and Parish Fish Fry. He has won a Servant Leadership Legacy Award and Eagle of the Cross Award. Lane plans to attend college to study education while playing basketball.

West Branch

Allyson Hartzell – The daughter of Debra and Kirk Hartzell is a member of marching, jazz and pep bands, Concert Choir and Young and Alive. She is a member of National Honor Society, Academic Challenge, Ruriteens, Educators Rising and a Homeworth Community Group volunteer. Hartzell plans to attend college to major in history and education.

Michael Kanagy – The son of David and Mikki Kanagy is on the football, basketball and track teams, and is an EBC Scholar Athlete. He was a Buckeye Boys State delegate and an eighth-grade mentor. He is president of National Honor Society and a class officer. Kanagy is a member of Goshen Good Growers 4-H Club and plans to attend college to major in pre-medicine to attend medical school.
