Alliance Elks Lodge 467 has announced its January Teenagers of the Month. The students are selected by their respective schools based on scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship and service to school and community.

ALLIANCE

Rylee Horning – The daughter of Matthew and Candice Horning is on the soccer, cross country and track teams, as well as the wrestling team. She is a member of National Honor Society, Jetsetters, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Choralaires Honor Choir. Horning is a guidance office aide and participates in community theater. She plans to attend college and major in early childhood education.

Zachary Kinser – The son of Tyler and Jenni-Jo Kinser is in marching, concert, pep and jazz bands, along with percussions ensembles, Jetsetters show choir band and orchestra. Kinser is a member of National Honor Society, Student Senate, Key Club, Interactive Media, Carnation City Players and his church’s Handbell Choir. His future plans are undecided.

LOUISVILLE

Molly Simpson – The daughter of Jason and Shannon Simpson is on the gymnastics and track teams. She is a member of Jo's Mentors, National Honor Society, French Club, Pre-Med Club, an Aultman Ambassador and senior class representative. Simpson volunteers in her community and is a Lady Leopard mentor. She plans to attend college and become a pediatric nurse practitioner.

Connor Morley – The son of Brian and Clarice Morley plays football and baseball, and is a scholar athlete. He is a volunteer coach for the YMCA Flag Football team and volunteers at his church. Morley plans to attend University of Mount Union to play baseball while majoring in exercise science to become a physician's assistant.

MARLINGTON

Lexi Miller – The daughter of Stephanie Castina and Michael Miller is a captain and four-year letter winner in basketball. She is a member of French National Honor Society. Miller plans to attend college to pursue a degree in business management.

Jordan Beggs – The son of Doug and Christy Beggs is on the cross country and indoor and outdoor track teams. He is a member of National Honor Society, a Peer Tutor and volunteers at his church. Beggs plans to attend Malone University to major in cybersecurity.

MINERVA

Mary Vaughan – The daughter of Danielle Borsh-Vaughan and David Vaughan is in marching and jazz bands, on the soccer team, and in chamber choir. She is a member of Student Council, Debate Club, International Circle, and appears in school musicals and fall plays. Vaughan plans to attend college to major in business or management with a minor in music, with plans to go into entertainment management.

Dylan Bias – The son of Stacy Riesling and Brian Hilliard is on the bowling and track and field teams. He is in choir, musical and drama theater. Bias is a member of National Honor Society, Chess Club, International Circle, and volunteered at the YMCA Unity Walk. He plans to attend Ohio State to pursue a master’s in chemical engineering.

SEBRING

MacKenzie Koerner – The daughter of Josh and Amanda Elliott is a member of National Honor Society, Ecology Club, Language Club, an advisor for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a student director. She plans to travel until 2025, while having a job, then become a real estate agent.

Gage Barker – The son of Becky Barker and Paul Barker plays football and golf. He is a member of National Honor Society, Ecology Club and Language Club. Barker plans to continue his education and become an electrical lineman.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS

Ava Sochnlen – The daughter of Daniel and Jennifer Sochnlen plays basketball and is a member of National Honor Society, Key Club and Culture Club. She is a youth basketball camp volunteer as well as volunteering in her school and community. Sochnlen plans to attend Walsh University while pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing, with plans to become a nurse practitioner, while playing basketball.

Victor Guevara – The son of Ana Garcia plays football and baseball while volunteering in the community. His future plans are to start up a company in which he will fix vehicles.

WEST BRANCH

Abbey Wilson – The daughter of Nichole and Darrell Wilson is on the cheerleading and competition teams while serving as the Warrior Princess. She runs track and is a member of National Honor Society, Pep Club and yearbook editor. Abbey is an eighth-grade mentor and volunteers at McCrea Manor and in the community. She plans to attend Kent State University at Salem to study nursing.

Dru DeShields – The son of Walt and Penny DeShields is on the football, basketball, baseball and track teams. He is a member of National Honor Society, a class officer, senior mentor and an EBC Scholar Athlete. DeShields plans to attend Kent State University and study sports management while playing football.
