Alliance Elks names Sept. students of month

Alliance Elks Lodge 467 has announced its September Teenagers of the Month. Students are selected by their respective schools based on scholarship, leadership, character, citizenship and service to school and community.

Alliance

Eva Miller – The daughter of Amy and Kirk Miller plays soccer (captain), runs track and is an EBC scholar athlete. She is in the marching and jazz bands; orchestra; and Jet-Setters. Miller is in Key Club, FCA, Washington Ruritans, and FFA. She is involved with Carnation City Players, Meals on Wheels and Union Avenue Methodist Church Youth Group. Her future plans are undecided.

Adam Zumbar – The son of Andrew and Michelle Zumbar plays football (captain) and is a scholar athlete. He is a member of National Honor Society and plans to attend University of Mount Union with an undecided major while playing football.

Louisville

Paige Folk – The daughter of Josette and Devin Folk plays soccer (captain) and softball, and runs track. She is a member of National Honor Society, French Club, Spirit Club, Hope Squad, Stark Youth Leadership Academy, and is Ppresident of Executive Student Council. Folk is involved with Fuel Up to Play, an Aultman Ambassador and an intern with Straggout Media. She plans to attend Walsh University with a double major in communications and professional writing while playing soccer.

Jack Mayle – The son of Kacie and Sonny Mayle plays golf; was on the first Louisville boys volleyball team, and is an EBC scholar. He is a member of National Honor Society, Hope Squad and Pre-med Club. He plans to attend college for pre-med to eventually become an orthopedic surgeon.

Marlington

Chelsea Evanich – The daughter of Nick and Andrea Evanich plays volleyball and basketball. She is a member of National Honor Society, Rotary Interact Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and 4-H. She volunteers at volleyball and basketball youth camps and is an elementary English learning tutor. She plans to attend Seton Hall University to studying pre-dental while playing basketball.

Luke Dipold – The son of Dax and Maria Dipold is captain of the tennis team. He is vice president of National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, was a Buckeye Boys State delegate, is a Duke Crew leader, and executive officer of Character Counts. Dipold is a member of Regina Coeli and Mission Marlington. He plans to attend college to pursue a degree in biology and attend medical school.

Minerva

Cheyenne Risher-Myers – The daughter of Marla Marie Rohr is a member of National Honor Society, National Technical Honors Society at RGDrage, secretary of RGDrage FFA, 4-H Farm Hands Club, Ohio Cattlemen's Association, Stark County Junior Fair Board, Stark County Farm Bureau and Stark County Steer Committee. She will graduate with an associate degree of technical studies from the University of Akron. She plans to attend the University of Akron to study business administration while continuing her love for farming with livestock and then taking a position in human resources in an agricultural cooperation.

Maxx Burgess – The son of Barbara and Jeffrey Burgess is a member of National Honor Society, Student Council,  Academic Challenge, International Circle, art classes and is treasurer of his class. He has honor achievements in algebra II, geometry and biology. Maxx plans to attend Kent State University or Ohio University and major in a math-related field with a minor in art.

St. Thomas

McKenna Gravo – The daughter of Dan and Jill Gravo plays volleyball and is a member of National Honor Society, Academic Challenge, the theater program, Key Club (secretary and webmaster), Student Council (president), and YLA. She plans to attend college to major in biology and kinesiology to become a pediatric physical therapist.

Riley Hawkins – The son of Tara and Andrew Hawkins plays baseball and wrestled for one year. He is a member of National Honor Society, School Plays and StageCrew. He plans to attend college and study sports medicine while playing baseball.
