ALLIANCE – Firefighters needed about 10 minutes to get a garage fire under control Tuesday morning, a city fire official said.

No one was hurt or displaced, said Fire Inspector Guy Aumend.

He said the garage at 757 S. Webb Ave. was detached from the house, and no one was present at the time of the blaze.

The fire, reported at 7:03 a.m., destroyed most of the garage and the vehicle inside. No damage was done to any nearby homes.

Aumend said the department is still trying to determine the cause of the fire.

Initially eight firefighters, an engine truck and ladder truck responded. Fire officials did not call for mutual aid from surrounding fire departments.
