ALLIANCE − An online auction of old Alliance City Schools furniture and equipment is planned for next month.

Kiko Co. will conduct the auction that starts at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 and ends at 10 a.m. Jan. 23.

Superintendent Rob Gress said on Tuesday night that the auction will include old desks, tables, lab stations and weightlifting equipment.

There also will be filing cabinets, cafeteria tables, electric lifts and much more available to the highest bidders. Pickup for the items will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 25-26 at 530 N. Lincoln Ave.

Gress said proceeds from the auction will go into the school district's general fund.

"These have been there for years," he said.

In other business, the Alliance City Schools Board of Education:

• ACCEPTED the resignation of cafeteria aide Tana Russell after more than 40 years of service, effective Feb. 1, 2023. Gress commended Russell, who is retiring, for being a "constant source of leadership."

• REPORTED Gress and Treasurer Kirk Heath passed their job performance evaluations. Both, "are successfully performing their duties," said Board President Elayne Dunlap.

• ACCEPTED donations from Kaylee Kirchbaum, board member Suzie Dennis, Kwik Suds Laundromat, Rev. Raymont Johnson, and other anonymous donors for the school district's Laundry Day held on Dec. 7.
