Alliance, Sebring set for July 4 festivities

Festivities and fireworks will help residents of the Carnation City area celebrate the Fourth of July tomorrow.

Alliance and Sebring will offer free fireworks shows for its residents on Tuesday at dusk.

Alliance’s will be at the conclusion of an evening of events at Silver Park. Sebring’s will be at the village’s Southside Memorial Park on West Texas Avenue.

The Alliance Parks and Recreation is host for the city’s celebration, which offers food trucks and vendors from 5 to 9 p.m. in the valley by the stage. From 6 to 9 p.m., John Hampu Band will perform on the stage. Fireworks will follow, launched from near the baseball fields.

Vendors are expected include Kona Ice, A-Town Burgers and Brews, Honey Girl Donuts, Cheezylicious, Here to Serve BBQ, Bella's Coffee Company, Alliance Friends of the Parks and Homeworth Lions.

Activities also will include Body Art by Burns, USA Inflatable Obstacle Course and a bounce house.

Organizers say many vendors will accept card payments, but some will be cash only.

Sebring plans its daylong celebration that will include a breakfast, parade and the 5K Firecracker Run.

Sebring Friends of the Parks will kick off the day with a community breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, at 323 S. 15th St.

Other Independence Day in the Park activities, including food and live music, will be at Southside Memorial Park.

Opening ceremonies with Mayor James Harp at the Veterans Memorial will officially kick off the day at 7:45 a.m. Signups for the run will begin at the East Pavilion, across from the pool, at 7:30 a.m. The race starts at 8:30 a.m.

Live music is planned throughout the day. Oldies with Gerald Harris will be noon to 2 p.m. Chris and Scott Miller will play a variety of music from 3 to 5 p.m. The band Cold Shot will play 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

11 a.m.: Ray Haverly Softball Game

11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Train rides

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Open swim

11 a.m.: Junior Olympics

Noon: Craft Fair

2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Swim games for ages 6 and older.

2 p.m.: Business kickball tournament

2 p.m.: Volleyball tournament

5 p.m.: Bike parade

5:30 p.m.: Cornhole tournament

10 p.m.: Fireworks
