Other programming

Senior citizens session − Direction Home and Center for Community Solutions will conduct a listening session for older adults in Portage, Stark, Summit and Wayne counties to learn their needs for aging in place. The session for adults ages 60 and older will take place Sept. 7 at the AASC. Officials say area residents' feedback is important to help inform the Strategic Area Plan on how to improve the programs. For more information on how to you can participate, contact Alliance Area Senior Center.

Tunisian Crochet Class 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 24. Those who crochet and knit are invited to learn how to Tunisian crochet. For a fee of $20, you will receive a kit with two balls of cotton yarn, a Tunisian crochet hook, and a written pattern. Choose to make either washcloths or a large wash mitt. Basic crochet and/or knit experience is recommended. Class size is limited, and because of the close proximity, face masks will be required. Call the center to register at 330-821-3348.

Tours from the Senior Center are open to the public. Call 330-821-3348 to make reservations.

∙ Bus departs at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday for those with tickets to see "Frozen: The Musical" at Playhouse Square. Member cost is $147, and non-members will pay $152. Cost includes meal, ticket, and transportation.

MGM Casino Northfield Park on Aug. 23. Members cost is $34, and non-members will pay $39.

⋅ Join an Autumn Serenade Luncheon Cruise on the Pittsburgh Gateway Clipper on Oct. 7. Member cost is $89, and non-members will pay $94. Trip includes a riverboat tour celebrating the beauty of autumn on the Three Rivers.  Experience the scenery from the top deck, enjoy an Autumn Harvest luncheon, and then get ready for the one-of-a- kind show, “The Autumn Harvest Serenade." Cost includes luncheon, cruise and transportation.

⋅ Join a trip to the Amish Country Theater for a matinee show of "All Hogs Go To Heaven" on Oct. 25. Members cost is $83, and non-members will pay $88. Cost includes lunch at Dutch Valley, the show and transportation. A stop at the Ashery Country Store is included.
