Volunteers served up 113 meals Sunday at the Community Thanksgiving Luncheon at Alliance Salvation Army.

The annual event is coordinated by the Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement and the university’s Order of Omega, which is an invitation-only national leadership honorary for junior and senior fraternity or sorority members.

A full Thanksgiving meal was served up to Alliance-area residents, including several types of pie for dessert. The 34 volunteers from Mount Union also prepared 123 meals for takeout from the event.

Donors who helped out included Teresa Davis; Teresa Latham; Chris Pontius; Kyle and Mackenzie Pavilonis; Rebecca Cooper; Gina Hoffman; Jason Hadley; Chris and Abby Schroeder; and JN House Enterprises. “Volunteers find great satisfaction providing meals for our community, and we were excited to bring this event back,” said Abby Schroeder, director of the Regula Center. “We will continue to support the Alliance of Churches Tuesday night dinners and look for additional opportunities to enjoy hot meals with our friends and neighbors.”
