Alliance YWCA sets golf event for Aug. 5

YWCA of Alliance plans its annual golf outing on Aug. 5 at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Lexington Township.

The 27th annual YWCA Carnation Golf Scramble is a major fundraiser for the agency. All proceeds benefit the YWCA of Alliance and their programs such as Meals on Wheels, ABCs for Kids, and clothing and housing for women.

The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at Tannenhauf Golf Course. Four-person teams will compete in a Florida, or step aside, scramble.

Ted’s Auto Sales is sponsor for a hole-in-one contest with a $1,000 prize for the first ace. In addition, Ted’s is offering prizes of $100 for closest-to-the-pin on each par 3 hole. Prizes will be awarded to the best men’s, women’s and mixed teams.  There will also be several proximity contests by flight. Skins, mulligans, 50-50 drawing and raffle items will also be available.

Cost to play is $75 per person, including golf fees, coffee and donuts, range balls and picnic lunch. There is a maximum of 32 teams.

Those who can’t play but who still wish to donate can send gifts to YWCA of Alliance, 239 E. Market St., Alliance, OH  44601.
