San Fancisco-based AllTrails, a fitness and travel mobile app used in outdoor recreational activities that began in 2010, has released its top fall hikes for states and cities across the nation.

Of the trails on the lists, the top trail in Hendersonville wound up in second spot on the top trails for North Carolina behind Clingman's Dome Observation Tower in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For Henderson County, AllTrails' list includes top hikes in Hendersonville, Saluda and Fletcher.

Hendersonville

  1. Triple Falls Trail in DuPont State Forest: Moderate, 2.7 miles, 393 feet elevation gain located near Hendersonville. Generally considered a moderately-challenging route, it takes an average of 1 hour, 11 minutes to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, running, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round.

  2. High Falls and Triple Falls Tour in DuPont State Forest: Moderate, 3.3 miles, 511 feet elevation gain located near Hendersonville. Generally considered a moderately-challenging route, it takes an average of an hour and a half to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

  3. Hooker Falls Trail in DuPont State Forest: Easy, 0.8 miles with an elevation gain of 137 feet, located near Hendersonville. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 22 minutes to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, running, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round.

Fletcher

  1. Fletcher Loop at Bill Moore Community Park: Easy, 3.1 miles with an elevation gain of 22 feet. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 54 minutes to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round.

  2. Fletcher Park at Bill Moore Community Park: Easy, 2.3 miles with an elevation gain of 16 feet. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 40 minutes to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

  3. Westfeldt River Park Trail: Easy, 0.6 miles with a slight elevation gain of three feet. An easy route, it takes an average of 10 minutes to complete. This trail is great for birding, fishing and hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Saluda

  1. Little Bradley Falls Trail: Moderate, 1.8 miles with an elevation gain of 164 feet. Considered a moderately-challenging route, it takes an average of 41 minutes to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, running and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round.

  2. Green River Cove Trail: Moderate, 6.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1,040 feet. It takes an average of 2 hours, 56 minutes to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking and mountain biking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring.

  3. Pearson's Falls: Easy, 0.7 miles with an elevation gain of 134 feet. Considered an easy route, it takes an average of 20 minutes to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round.
