ALPHARETTA/MILTON, GA — Pumpkins are showing up at grocery stores and roadside stands as Halloween creeps closer. If your family has a visit planned to a local pumpkin patch in Alpharetta or Milton, we have a list of stands open in the area. And here’s a look at the weekend weather forecast to help you plan your trip.

Wind and rain may put a damper on weekend plans around metro Atlanta, according to the National Weather Service. The forecast for this weekend shows:

A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 9 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77. Southeast wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

    • Attractions: Hayrides at Scottsdale Farms are filled with hay bales and are pulled by a big farm tractor. In the family fun field, you'll also find the corn maze, lawn games, and a sunflower field that makes a perfect photo backdrop. Other events include classes to make pumpkin succulents, fall tablescapes and fall containers. Pumpkin painting for toddlers will be at 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 14. The class is limited to eight children, $5 per child. Reservations are needed and can be booked by calling 770-777-5875.

    • October hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays. The week of Halloween open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Haunted Forest open dark to closing.
