Young Abigail Johnson got the thrill of her life on Thursday when Alshon Jeffery, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver, surprised her entire class at her school in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Jeffery came to surprise Abigail and her class to thank her for the supportive letter she wrote him last weekend. The Eagles lost their NFC divisional game to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and it ended badly for Jeffery. In the final minutes, a pass sailed through his hands for an interception, and Jeffery took it hard. Abigail wrote him a letter to make him feel better, and it went viral when her father posted a photo of the letter on Twitter.

That’s how Jeffery saw the letter, so he decided to visit her in school to show his gratitude for being such a supportive fan. And the students were totally surprised — they let out a movie-quality gasp as soon as he walked through the door.

Bonus points to the kid who immediately asked Jeffery to sign his sweatshirt.

The school (and Jeffery) pulled this off by telling the kids they were trying to FaceTime him, since the entire class had written him letters. The kids were told that FaceTime wasn’t working, but they could just talk to him in person.

They even sang “Fly, Eagles, Fly” for him!

The kids were extremely grateful that Jeffery stopped by.

The school is in the heart of Eagles country, so most of the kids were probably fans for life already. But Jeffery definitely earned himself some personal fans for life with that visit.
