Altered State hosts vendor fair, Brick House Coffee limited to drive-thru, Cork celebrates lobster

Altered State Distillery, 1535 W. Eighth St., is planning its final summer Arts and Casks Handmade Vendor Fair on Sunday. ChyDezign will be collecting vendor fees the day of the fair, and donating them to the A.N.N.A. Shelter in honor of Altered State Distillery friend Joshua "Joose" Chessario, who died in July. Michelle The Cookielady will be donating the proceeds from her cookie sales along with the contents of the donation box to Chessario's memorial benefit hosted by Brandi Fresco that will take place at Basement Transmissions on Sept 10. Vendor spots are spoken for, but others can be added to the waitlist. Confirmed vendors include Babes in Boardland, ChyDezign — Michelle The Cookielady, eileengreen.com, NannyBots & Projects, Terrapin Moon Tie Dyes, The Copper Twig, VnC Creations Erie and Wrapped Up Crafts. Others are pending, according to Altered State Distillery's Facebook page.

Erie Ale Works, 416 W. 12th St., is celebrating its 8th birthday with pizza-slinging Ippa Pizza Napoletana food truck, Sept. 10, from 2-8 p,m. For more information, visit the ippa Pizza Facebook page.

Brick House Coffee, 3741 W. 26th St., bade farewell on Facebook to several staff members who have returned to school for the year. This means the coffee shop will be open drive-thru-only until they get their new staff members up to speed.

Jo's Brooklyn Bagels Too, newbie at the Flagship City Food Hall, 34 N. Park Row, has a new Facebook page that is separate from that of its independent sister store, Jo's Brooklyn Bagels, 833 W. 38th St. The second store downtown is independently operated and will have its own promotions, events and giveaways.

The Cork 1794, 900 West Erie Plaza, is hosting its Third Annual Lobster Fest Sept. 7-13. The restaurant will feature fresh seafood, live music and more. Make reservations at cork1794.com/reservations/.

Smokey Bones, 2074 Interchange Road, has a new menu for fall, available through Nov. 14, featuring finger foods, meaty entrées, and sweet cocktails and dessert, according to a recent news release. New appetizers include Pulled Pork Fried Pie or Buffalo Chicken Chips. The Pulled Pork Fried Pie features a flakey dough stuffed with pulled pork, deep fried and served with a Carolina mustard barbecue sauce on the side. New entrées include the Meat Master Sandwich, made with smoked meatloaf and topped with bacon, jalapeno cheddar sausage, onion tanglers, cheese sauce and served on a buttery brioche bun; and the RibFeast, a rack of St. Louis-style ribs. The dessert is apple cobbler. There are two new cocktails: the Crown Jewel, a bright red martini made with Crown Royal Regal Apple Whisky, apple juice, Grenadine and simple syrup and the Tickled Pink, made with Ketel One Vodka, real guava puree, Monin margarita mix, simple syrup, dragon fruit powder and served with a rock candy swizzle stick.
