Spring and Easter events are gearing up this week. Take a look at some of the upcoming events that require a little more planning, like family camp at Camp Greenville. And don’t miss the new Book Nook on your next visit to The Children’s Museum of the Upstate in Greenville. The Book Nook is now open at TCMU-Greenville. This whimsical space transports young readers into a fantastic magical forest, complete with tree-like bookshelves, reading nooks and an imaginary fireplace. The space houses a large assortment of books of varying age levels, languages and themes, allowing children to read independently or with their caregivers. The 521 All-Stars: A Championship Story of Baseball and Community opens March 25 at the South Carolina State Museum I Columbia. Explore this special photography display about a Black baseball team from Rembert, SC and the community who supported them. For details, visit scmuseum.org.

Tell Me A Story Theatre – “Go to Sleep in Your Own Bed” is at 9:45 and 11 a.m. March 28 at South Carolina Children’s Theatre in the lobby. This event is for pre-K – early elementary ages. Admission is free. The parking lot fee is waived. Material often includes audience participation or simple interaction and will last no longer than 30 minutes. Reservations are not required. A Launch Party and Kids' Book Signing with Jonathan Fenske is 2 – 4 p.m. April 1 at Fiction Addiction. Join local author and illustrator Jonathan Fenske for a drop-in launch party to celebrate his new book, “A Unicorn, a Dinosaur, and a Shark Walk into a Book.” This event is free and open to the public. Family Field Day, benefitting Let There Be Mom, is 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. April 1 at Neely Farm in Simpsonville.
