Quenching Thirsts At The Billboard Awards

Pepsi is adding more to its NFT arsenal. In a May 11 announcement, the beverage company announced its first-ever second screen NFT experience. The new concept comes in partnership with Billboard and MRC Live & Alternative to offer a new way for fans to engage with live entertainment.

The innovative Pepsi Mic Drop x Billboard Music Awards “Winners’ Club” NFT Collection is a limited-edition digital collection only available through the Billboard ChartStars platform. Created for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards show, the new collection will give fans the chance to have a real-time opportunity to grab NFTs while the show is airing live.

The folks at Meta are cooking up something new on Instagram. A group of NFT creators is testing out their tokens, as confirmed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerburg. The company confirmed that there would be similar functionality on Facebook.

A video posted by the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri revealed a select group of users in the United States will have the capacity to display NFTs on their Instagram feeds, stories, and direct messages.

“I want to acknowledge upfront that NFTs and blockchain technologies and Web3 more broadly are all about distributing trust, distributing power,” Mosseri said in the video. “But Instagram is fundamentally a centralized platform, so there’s a tension there.”

According to Christin Pai, a spokesperson at Meta, the NFTs displayed on the platform will initially be minted on the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains.

Budweiser Zero and Dwyane Wade are reportedly entering a particular version of the metaverse called the “Budverse.” The digital space will host an NFT collection and exclusive Budweiser Zero cans.

Additional pieces of the NFT collection will include custom Wade visuals, membership utilities, and charitable integration. Scheduled to release later in May, the collections will have three different types of NFTs, experiences, and merch.

The NFTs will be tiered: Core, Hero, and Legendary. Each will be available for purchase with Ethereum, Bitcoin, or a credit card.
