Amal Clooney's older sister, Tala Alamuddin Le Tallec, is serving three weeks in jail after being convicted of drunk driving.

According to the Daily Mail, Tala, 47, "pleaded guilty on Monday to driving offenses including drink-driving, using a car without a Singapore Class 3 driving licence and driving without insurance."

The human rights lawyer's sister is a fashion designer of her namesake label, TALA. She is a permanent resident of Singapore and will have to pay a fine of $6,400 (£3,640). The outlet also notes she will be "disqualified from driving for four years after her release from prison."

Sources report that Tala indulged in two glasses of wine and a glass of champagne while out to dinner with a friend in Dempsey Hill, Singapore's hotspot neighborhood. She had been driving her husband's BMW X5 and was reportedly stopped by the police around 2:30 am, where she was then given a breathalyzer test.

She has previously faced offenses of careless and inconsiderate driving dating back to as early as 2004. In 2013, Tala was convicted of drunk driving and disqualified from getting behind the wheel for two years.
