Hall of Fame announcer Marty Brennaman waves to fans while serving as the Grand Marshal for the canceled 2020 Findlay Market Opening Day Parade, in downtown Cincinnati on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. It was the first time the parade was held since 2019.

It was a somber occasion, but Amanda Ingram Brennaman shared some great photos via Facebook of her husband, long-time Cincinnati Reds play-by-play announcer Marty, posing with Major League Baseball and broadcasting greats as they celebrated the life of legendary Dodgers play-by-play announcer Vin Scully, who died last week at age 94.

Among those with Cincinnati connections photographed with Marty was Al Michaels, who came to Cincinnati in 1971 and was replaced in the Reds' broadcast booth in 1974 by Marty. Michaels, honored in Cooperstown last year as the winner of 2021 Ford C. Frick Award, will call "Thursday Night Football" for Amazon during the upcoming NFL season.

Also, Sandy Koufax, who pitched for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats for one season in 1954 after earning a basketball scholarship at UC in 1953. The Dodgers unveiled a bronze statue in June of the National Baseball Hall of Famer at the entrance to Dodger Stadium.

From Brennaman via Facebook:

Last month, Marty paid tribute to The Enquirer's Paul Daugherty, who recently retired. "I hope you have appreciated Doc's work over all these years as I have. Because his talent will not, soon, come this way again," Marty said.
