Amanda Bynes’ latest psychiatric hold has been extended amid concerns for her mental state.

The “She’s the Man” and “Easy A” star, 37, will remain under the care of doctors for at least another week after she was detained last weekend for a mental health evaluation, insiders familiar with the situation told TMZ Thursday.

The Los Angeles Police Department on Saturday morning took Bynes into custody following a call for a woman in distress, though she reportedly looked calm when spotted with authorities. Earlier this week, she was confirmed to have been placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

The hold, which can last as long as 72 hours, was initiated after authorities determined Bynes was a danger to herself or others, according to the outlet.

Doctors will spend the extended time focused on Bynes’ treatment, including medications and therapy, sources told the outlet. Though it’s unknown whether Bynes ceased taking her medication prior to the latest incident, she reliably kept up with it while under a nearly decadelong conservatorship, which a judge terminated in March 2022.

With her mother no longer responsible for Bynes’ care, her concerned parents now lack the ability to step in and ensure she is looking after herself.

Nearly a year to the day after her conservatorship ended, Bynes suffered a break in late March 2023, which saw her strolling naked through Los Angeles. Bynes at the time called 911 and told authorities she was experiencing a psychotic episode. That incident followed her reported split in late March from on-again-off-again fiance Paul Michael, and saw Bynes spending three weeks in a mental hospital.
