Amanda Kloots pays tribute on 3-year anniversary of husband Nick Cordero’s death

NEW YORK — Broadway star Nick Cordero’s “spirit lives on” three years after his death, his widow, Amanda Kloots, wrote in an emotional tribute.

Wednesday marked the three-year anniversary of Cordero’s death, which followed complications from COVID-19.

“What I loved most is how he made me feel safe in his arms, and always loved,” Kloots wrote Wednesday on Instagram. “That’s a very special thing to give to someone. He was a special man with the biggest heart. I love you honey. Always.”

Cordero was hospitalized in late March 2020 and died more than three months later at age 41. The Canadian-born actor received a 2014 Tony nomination for “Bullets Over Broadway” and also appeared in Broadway productions of “Rock of Ages,” “Waitress” and “A Bronx Tale.”

In her tribute Wednesday, Kloots, 41, enlisted friends and family to share quotes about Cordero.

“He made you feel like you were the only person in the room,” one person said. Another said Cordero had “the heart of a giant.”

“He was fearless when it came to pursuing his dreams,” a third person said.

Kloots, a panelist on “The Talk,” met Cordero while she was working in the ensemble of “Bullets Over Broadway.” They married in 2017 and had a son, Elvis, who recently turned 4.

“He made such an impact on everyone he met, especially those he loved,” Kloots wrote of Cordero.

“I was reminded by a dear friend that three years really isn’t a lot of time,” she continued. “I need to allow myself grace. Why is that so hard, allowing grace into our life? But he was right. Is right. I miss Nick more than anything in the entire world.”
