Amandla Stenberg is the New Face of Fenty Beauty
Yesterday, Amandla Stenberg announced on her Instagram account that she is the new “FENTY FACE” with an image of her looking mysteriously through a rear-view mirror and donning Fenty Beauty products, Rihanna’s beloved inclusive makeup brand.
As reported by The Cut, Amandla explained the decision in a release, “I wanted to become a part of the Fenty Family because it’s one of the few beauty brands that make me feel like myself!” In recent years, the actor and activist, who graced the cover of Teen Vogue in February 2016, has starred in high-profile films such as The Hate U Give, Everything, Everything, and The Hunger Games Series. Throughout her burgeoning career, the 20-year-old has always made a point to stay true to themselves. Speaking publicly about everything from intersectional feminism to being biracial and her evolving sexuality, she is the ideal face of a brand aiming to make everyone feel seen and celebrated, “no matter their race, ethnicity, culture or personal style.”
Accordingly, Amandla reiterated in the statement, “Fenty Beauty’s whole ethos makes me feel empowered and excited to let different facets of myself shine.” As the exclusive beauty ambassador, Amandla is the brand's first celebrity face outside of Rihanna’s. “🖤 BEAUTY FOR ALL 🖤 and more to come,” she also shared on Instagram.
