Former Love and Hip Hop Miami cast member Amara La Negra gave birth to twins but recently shared they were required to stay in the neonatal intensive care unit.

The new mom, who gave birth to the twins on March 23 shared an update on the Instagram page she created for the twins.

“Our Mommy is Finally Going Home Today while we have to stay so we can get prettier and stronger but we will be Home soon,” the Instagram caption stated.

La Negra was overcome with emotion when she shared a live video stream while leaving the hospital without her babies.

“I’m here pumping. I’m not gonna lie, I’m very sad because I have to go home without my girls,” she said.

The Dominican American artist announced her pregnancy to the public when she sat down for an interview with People in November.

“I had only done a urine [home pregnancy] test. When the [nurse] does the sonogram, she says: ‘Wow, there are two gestational sacs.’ I was happy, surprised, but I couldn’t process what she was telling me,” she said.

But when she first felt symptoms, the Miami native said she wasn’t sure if she was pregnant.

“I felt so nauseous that I thought the food was making me sick,” she said. “My woman’s intuition told me: ‘Do a pregnancy test’. I did the test, and it came back positive.”

Amara, whose real name is Dana Danelys de los Santos, said it took her a couple days to process everything after finding out that she’s pregnant.

“I was nervous. The first thing I thought about was in my work and my projects, having to tell my mom: ‘My life is going to change!'” she said. “I started to cheer myself up because at the beginning [I felt] a lot of fear.”

Amara and her babies’ father, Allan Mueses, were seen together in a series of Instagram photos after welcoming the twins, Hello Beautiful reports.

Amara initially said in November that she would be a single mother.

“I woke up pregnant like the Virgin Mary. I woke up pregnant and that’s all I remember,” she said. “I will be a single mother. I know my babies will depend on me.”
