AC Jazz Band to perform at Starlight Canyon
Amarillo College Jazz Band is scheduled to perform at Starlight Canyon Bed and Breakfast at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31.
Tickets are $12 (plus fees) through Eventbrite and $15 at the door.
Tickets include access to the charming outdoor experience at the historic Starlight Canyon Bed & Breakfast. Gates open at 6 p.m. and patrons may bring chairs and blankets to socially distance under the stars.
This is a BYOB and drinks, family-friendly event and children ages 12 and younger are admitted for free. There will be a food truck on site.
Parking is limited so carpooling is encouraged when possible.

Starlight Ranch hosts Neon Nebula
Smile Big Texas Presents Neon Nebula at 6 p.m. Friday, June 3 at the Starlight Ranch Event Center, 1415 Sunrise Drive.
The event features out of town guest performances, vendors, merchandise, raffles, rave, drag show, talent show and more.

HPPR hosting Ordinary Elephant
High Plains Public Radio presents the folk duo Ordinary Elephant, live in concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at Chalice Abbey in Amarillo. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
HPPR's Living Room Concert Series returns with another show in Amarillo. Don't miss the extraordinary folk duo, Ordinary Elephant. If you listen to What the Folk?, Songbirds, or High Plains Morning, you're surely familiar with their intimate compositions and soulful melodies.
Their latest album is titled "Honest", and they've got a new single out now titled "Let Me Tell You What I Think." The husband-and-wife team of Pete and Crystal Damore was named the International Folk Music Awards 2017 Artist of the Year.
HPPR's Living Room Concerts are donation-based shows, so please bring cash for the door. A donation of $15 is suggested, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. HPPR will be there to host, but all contributions go to the artists (plus a little for the venue).
Refreshments from Pan-Handlers Café & Palace Coffee Co. are planned, but attendees are welcome to bring their own beverages/snacks.

Led Zeppelin tribute to play at Starlight
A Celebration of Led Zeppelin, a live performance by The Led Zeppelin Tribute Band, Uncle Zep is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at Starlight Ranch, 1415 Sunrise Drive.
Years ago this group of musicians got together and discovered they do something particularly well. When asked they simply say “We do Zeppelin” but this statement doesn’t convey the years of refined, detailed, polished perfection that became Uncle Zep. Uncle Zep plays Led Zeppelin: considered one of the most successful, innovative, and influential rock groups in history.
This is an all-ages, family friendly show. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Food and alcohol available for purchase and folding chairs are welcome. No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Quitaque museum hosting Rendezvous
The Comanchero Canyons Museum, 200 S. Third St., Quitaque, is hosting a Comanchero Rendezvous from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 4.
There will be a hamburger lunch for $10 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The museum invites attendees to bring their own artifacts for identification by experts or comparison to the extensive lithic collection of Otho Stubbs.
Many new displays have been added or reworked since the last gathering, including the Red River War and the Texan Santa Fe Expedition’s cache of trade goods.
The museum also features an extensive display of remnants of unearthed fossilized creatures that lived here during the Ice Age, including strange elephants (mammoths), as well as, crocodiles (phytosaurus).
A popular outside activity at the homestead includes Cotton Elliott at the blacksmith forge creating souvenirs as people watch. Sam Montandon will set up his tipi as a kid-knapper, creating preforms and points from flint.
Each year the museum honors a person who has promoted the history of the area in special ways. This year they will remember O.R. Stark Jr., who passed away in 2000. Stark loved the Caprock region and promoted it through word and deed, his famous bank newsletters, and in the acquisition and support of Caprock Canyons State Park.

5K fun run benefits mural project
The inaugural Center City Mural Run sponsored by Underwood Law Firm and benefitting Center City of Amarillo, is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at Fifth Street and Polk Avenue at the cowboy mural.
There will be a 5K and a on-mile fun run/walk. Pets are also welcome to attend, and if they are walking/running, they will receive a pet bandana.
There will be a game/kids area with food and fun, and also a VIP area with brunch.
Registration is $35 (without brunch) or $50 (with brunch) or $25 for brunch only.

Homeless Heroes Summer Bash set for June 5
The Homeless Heroes 2022 Summer Bash is set for Sunday, June 5, at Starlight Ranch.
There will be a bike run for motorcycle fans. It will begin and end at Starlight Ranch. Tickets include entry into the Homeless Heroes Summer Bash after the run. Registration begins at 11a.m., first bike out at noon.
For those wanting a fun, family event, this is it. From noon to 8 p.m. there will be food trucks, carnival games, vendors, and live music from Strange Saints to open the event, then from Lindsey Lane to finish it off.
Enjoy a whole day of fun activities to help a good cause and raise funds for our mission of giving back to those who have served.
General admission tickets are $15 (plus taxes and fees); bike run tickets are $20 (plus taxes and fees); child tickets (ages 3-13) are $10 (plus taxes and fees); and VIP tickets are $300 (plus taxes and fees).
There are eight VIP tables available to reserve for each concert. You will only get the use of these tables during the concert of your choice. This includes six general admission tickets into the venue.

AMoA hosting Art After Dark event
The Amarillo Museum of Art will host an Art After Dark event from 7-10 p.m. on Friday, June 10.
There will be live music by Jonathan Guidi and Touching Voodoo as well as a signature cocktail and fun freebies from Still Austin Whiskey Company.
Cotton candy will be provided by MOD Balloon Company and food by Reagan's Brick Oven.
Blank Spaces Gallery will provide a mural and selfie station and there will be a gallery hunt and hands-on art activities.
The evening will also feature a screening of "Friends of the Wild West," a short film by Meredith Childers Varlamis starring The Dance by Friends With You.

Gio and The Hired Guns return to Amarillo
Giovannie and The Hired Guns make their way back to Amarillo at 8 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Starlight Ranch.
In the last few years, Giovannie and The Hired Guns have grown from a massively beloved local live act to an undeniable new force on the national rock scene. McCollum brings country sound to Amarillo
Singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dedicated road warrior Parker McCollum is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. June 11 at the Amarillo Coliseum. Patrons should use entrances #5, #7, #8 and #10.
McCollum began building a following in his native Texas with 2015s "The Limestone Kid".
Born in Conroe, the 29-year-old entrepreneurially spirited artist bridges the gap between Texas' homegrown music scene and Nashville's country-industry headquarters. His song writing earned him a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Nashville in May 2018 and a recording deal with Universal Music Group Nashville in June 2019.
"Gold Chain Cowboy", produced by Jon Randall, expands on McCollum’s outcast drifter ethos set forth on his widely praised Hollywood Gold EP released last fall which became the top-selling debut country EP of 2020.
McCollum has been named an Artist to Watch by Billboard, HITS Magazine, Rolling Stone, CMT, Opry Next Stage, Sirius XM, RIAA and more. He was named as ACM’s Best New Male Artist.

Asleep at the Wheel returns to Starlight Ranch
Asleep at the Wheel makes its way back to Amarillo at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Starlight Ranch.
Founded in 1970, Asleep at the Wheel has been part of the American roots music landscape for more than 50 years. Although the band got its start on a farm in Paw Paw, West Virginia, Asleep at the Wheel became a cornerstone of the Austin scene upon its arrival in 1973.
Inspired by Western swing and honky-tonk country, the band has accrued 10 Grammy Awards. In the fall, a career retrospective recorded with the current lineup — and a few special guests — will carry the band back onto the road, where they’ve remained a staple for five decades.

Starlight Ranch hosting Amarillo Crawfish Festival
Get ready to enjoy fresh-boiled Louisiana Crawfish and food trucks from around the panhandle at the Amarillo Crawfish Festival 2022 set for Saturday, June 18, at Starlight Ranch.

ASO presents Dvořák’s New World Symphony
