Eastern New Mexico University's Greyhound Arena hosted Spring Commencement at ENMU-Portales, with 427 candidates walking across the stage for graduation on Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. The Spring Commencement address was given by 2022 ENMU graduate Ms. Lorynn Guerrero, who was named 2022 New Mexico Teacher of the Year for her work with students at New America School in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
"The ENMU commencement ceremony is ENMU's celebration of our students and their families," said Dr. Patrice Caldwell, chancellor and president of ENMU. "The degrees we award students already changed their lives; those degrees are now their ticket to change the world. I can't wait to see what they will accomplish."

Kaden Grace Named to UM Spring 2022 Chancellor's Honor Roll
UNIVERSITY, MS — Kaden Grace, of Amarillo, was named to the University of Mississippi's Spring 2022 Honor Roll lists.
Grace, majoring in Economics and Mathematics, was named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75-4.00.
"The remarkable students achieving Chancellor's Honor Roll are among the best and brightest at the University of Mississippi," said Chancellor Glenn Boyce. "I commend them for their hard work and dedication resulting in their outstanding academic achievements and this well-deserved recognition."
In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.
611 graduate from Union University
JACKSON, Tenn. — Six hundred eleven students graduated from Union University May 21 during spring commencement services of the 197th graduating class at Oman Arena, including Jaycie Carroll of Amarillo, who earned a Master of Urban Education.
Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska delivered the commencement address. "Don't believe the vanity that we are going to solve it all," Sasse told Union graduates. "Your work is important. But your work is not the means by which you will achieve status or meaning. Your work is the opportunity to live a life of gratitude to God, who has already given you all gifts by grace."
Located in Jackson, Tenn., Union University is a liberal arts-based university affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Founded in 1823, Union is the oldest institution relating to the Southern Baptist Convention.
Dean's Honor Roll at Southwestern College Spring 2022 released
WINFIELD, Kan. — Top scholars at Southwestern College in Winfield and at Southwestern College Professional Studies have been announced with the release of the Dean's Honor Roll for the spring 2022 semester. Full-time students who earned grade point averages of at least 3.70 (4.0 equals an A) were eligible for the honor.
Students on the list include Tiny Phan of Amarillo and Zane Brooks of Canyon.
Southwestern College is a private liberal arts college, founded in 1885 by Methodists in south central Kansas. Today its Winfield campus is the residential hub that guides students to lives of meaning and service, with well-rounded academic and extra-curricular offerings attracting traditional-aged students from throughout the nation and world.
Local student Axel Hernandez named to BVU's Spring 2022 Dean's List
STORM LAKE, IA — Axel Hernandez of Dumas was named to Buena Vista University's Spring 2022 Dean's List. Hernandez was among more than 500 students named to the Dean's List this semester.
The Dean's List recognizes full-time students achieving a 3.5 grade point average or higher for the semester.
