Hunter Triplett named to Husson University's Honors List

BANGOR, ME — Borger resident Hunter Triplett has been named to Husson University's Honors List for the Fall 2022 semester. During the fall semester, Triplett was enrolled in Husson's Doctor of Physical Therapy/Bachelor of Science in exercise science program.

Students who make the Honors List must be enrolled as an undergraduate student, carry a full-time load of 12 credit hours, complete all attempted courses in the time allotted for the semester, and achieve a 3.40 to 3.59 semester grade-point average. Credits from pass/fail classes do not qualify toward meeting the minimum credit hour requirement.

John Butcher earns spot on Dean's List at Coastal Carolina University

CONWAY, SC — More than 2,700 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2022 semester, including John Butcher from Amarillo.

Students who make the Dean's List have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (3.25 for freshmen) for the semester.

Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, located just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Local student graduates from UW-Madison

MADISON, Wis. — Just over 1,750 students received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison during a commencement ceremony at the Kohl Center on Dec. 18, 2022.

Keslie Pharis of Amarillo earned a College of Letters and Science, Master of Music, Music: Performance.

"Time will move fast," comedian Charlie Berens, the keynote speaker, told the graduates. "Your job isn't to slow it down. Your job is to fill your days with what lights your soul. And don't worry if you can't see the path. Once your soul is lit, the path will reveal itself. And on your path - and this is most important - make sure you watch out for deer."

University of Mississippi announces Fall 2022 Dean's Honor Roll

UNIVERSITY, MS — The University of Mississippi announced the following local students were named to the Fall 2022 Honor Roll lists, including Dean's Honor Roll: Carly Stockard of Amarillo and Peyton Burgess of Amarillo.

The Dean's Honor Roll is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.50-3.74. In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.

The University of Mississippi, affectionately known as Ole Miss, is the state's flagship university. Included in the elite group of R1: Doctoral Universities - Highest Research Activity by the Carnegie Classification, it has a long history of producing leaders in public service, academics and business.

Kansas State University students from Texas earn fall semester honors

MANHATTAN, KANSAS — More than 4,200 Kansas State University students have earned semester honors for their academic performance in the fall 2022 semester. Students earning a grade point average for the semester of 3.75 or above on at least 12 graded credit hours receive semester honors along with commendations from their deans. The honors also are recorded on their permanent academic records.

The following students from Texas have earned fall 2022 semester honors from Kansas State University: Makaylee Longoria and Michael Velasquez of Amarillo, Taylor Martin of Dalhart and Avery Pipkin of Farwell.

UMGC students named to Dean's List

ADELPHI, MD — More than 9,800 University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) students were named to the Dean's List for the fall semester. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

Local students include Brian Blackmon of Claude, Amy Mascetta of Amarillo, Mirelys Negron-Laureano of Amarillo, Ladonna Prosser of Amarillo, and Griselda Sanchez of Amarillo.

Proffer of Amarillo named to Dean's List in U of A's Fulbright College

FAYETTEVILLE, AR — Allison Proffer of Amarillo was named to the Fall 2022 Dean's List in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas.

Proffer joins nearly 2,500 additional Fulbright College students on the Fall 2022 Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve at least a 3.75 grade-point average for the semester while completing at least 12 credit hours.

"Allison represents the very best of Fulbright College," said Kathryn Sloan, interim dean. "In being named to the Dean's List, Allison demonstrates excellence in academics and a commitment to our mission of peace through education. Local student earns distinction at Wichita State University

WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State University has announced the names of more than 3500 students who were on the WSU dean's honor roll for fall 2022, including Devon A Robinson of Amarillo. To be included on the dean's honor roll, a student must be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours) and earn at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

University of Wyoming announces honor rolls for Texas students

The University of Wyoming lists the following students from Texas on the 2022 fall semester President’s Honor Roll, which consists of regularly enrolled undergraduates who earned a 4.0 (“A”) grade-point average for the semester. Students include Vincent Petrey of Amarillo and Taryn C. Audrain of Fritch. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.

Kallie A. Marting of Amarillo and Byanca Varela of Spearman made the university's 2022 fall semester Provost’s Honor Roll, which consists of undergraduates who have completed at least six but fewer than 12 hours with a minimum 3.5 grade-point average for the semester.

Nicholas K. Pearson and Jake Carter Warden of Amarillo and Emma Waters of Perryton were included on the 2022 fall semester academic Dean’s and Dean’s Freshman Honor Rolls, which consist of regularly enrolled undergraduates above freshman standing who earned a 3.4 or better grade-point average, and freshmen who have earned a 3.25 or better grade-point average. To be eligible, students must have been enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours taken for letter grades.

SFA celebrates December 2022 graduation candidates

NACOGDOCHES — Stephen F. Austin State University celebrated the achievements of more than 900 students during its end-of-fall commencement ceremony held Dec. 10 in Johnson Coliseum. Degrees awarded include 822 bachelor's, 149 master's and two doctoral degrees. Students included Courtney Frausto of Tulia and Ember Reed of Kress.
