Amarillo completes late comeback, walks off NW Arkansas

Through seven and a half innings, the Amarillo Sod Poodles looked like they were heading for defeat against the NW Arkansas Naturals on Thursday night.

Then the eighth inning happened.

Leandro Cedeno's grand slam in the eighth inning tied the game before the Sod Poodles took victory on yet another walk off win in a season that's been full of them. Amarillo is now 34-38 on the year.

After NWA got off to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, they turned it to 3-0 in the third. Things went scoreless until the seventh when the Naturals added another run to make it 4-0.

Then, in the eighth, Cedeno knocked out a grand slam to score Andy Yerzy, Ti'Quan Forbes, Jorge Barrosa and himself to tie the game up. In the ninth, Yerzy's sacrifice fly scored Tim Tawa to win the game for the Soddies.
