ALT presents 'Clybourne Park'

Amarillo Little Theatre, 2019 Civic Circle, plans its next production of the 2022-23 season for for Nov. 10-20 when it presents the dramatic comedy "Clybourne Park."

On two separate afternoons, 50 years apart, a modest bungalow on Chicago’s northwest side becomes a contested site in the politics of race. September 1959: Russ and Bev are moving out to the suburbs. They’ve inadvertently sold the house to the neighborhood’s first black family and ignited a community showdown.

September 2009: the neighborhood is ripe for gentrification and the house is again changing hands. This time to a young white couple with plans for demolition and a knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. In a provocative nod to A Raisin in the Sun, Pulitzer Prize winner Bruce Norris takes a look at what happens when home becomes a battleground.

Symphony presents 'Four Last Songs'

The Amarillo Symphony presents Strauss: Four Last Songs at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19, at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Buchanan.

The symphony hosts Metropolitan Opera soprano Susanna Phillips for the performances. This evening also features Mozart’s imaginative Overture to the “Magic Flute” and Tchaikovsky’s heartbreaking and poignant last symphony, “Pathetique.”

Stirling to perform at civic center

Lindsey Stirling brings her Snow Waltz Tour to the Amarillo Civic Center Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Nov. 19, entrances 1 and 12.

Stirling is an electronic violinist, dancer, and artist who has humbly become one of the 21st century’s most innovative stars. Her groundbreaking vision has gained her millions of fans worldwide, four Billboard chart-topping albums, and two Billboard Music Awards including Top Dance/Electronic Album for her third studio release, “Brave Enough”.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas comes to civic center

More than 35 years later, Mannheim Steamroller Christmas is still going strong and bringing its annual holiday tour to Amarillo at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 25, at the Civic Center Auditorium, entrances 1, 2 and 12.

Grammy Award winning Mannheim Steamroller has sold more than 41 million albums, with more than 31.5 million in the Christmas genre. Their holiday CDs have become synonymous with Christmas and occupy top positions on Billboard’s Seasonal Chart every year.

This year’s show will feature classic Christmas hits from the Mannheim Steamroller holiday albums along with multimedia effects in an intimate setting.

Chip Davis, founder and creator of Mannheim Steamroller, will celebrate more than 35 years of his annual Christmas concert tour, making it the longest running concert tour in the entertainment industry. Davis will direct and co-produce Tour performances with MagicSpace Entertainment.

Drag Queen Christmas set for Nov. 29

For the 8th consecutive year, Murray & Peter present, “A Drag Queen Christmas” at 8 p.m. on Nov. 29, at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Buchanan St.

Get ready for your favorite queens performing live on stage. We’ve got Winners, Fan Favorites and Miss Congeniality. VIP Meet and Greet tickets are also available. The M&G starts at 6 p.m. All ages welcome. The show starts at 8 p.m. There will be a 20-minute intermission.

Globe-News Center hosting movie premier

A “What Remains” movie premier is scheduled for 8 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Buchanan St.

“What Remains” follows a recently paroled convict (Kellan Lutz), who returns to the small town where he murdered the wife of the town's pastor (Cress Williams).

That forces the pastor to reconcile his pain and anger with forgiveness, while the local sheriff (Anne Heche) investigates another mysterious homicide, which may be related.

3 Redneck Tenors bring holiday cheer

Come and take a magical, musical journey with the 3 Redneck Tenors (actually 5) and their Christmas SPEC-TAC-YULE-AR performance.

Beatles Christmas show comes to city

Christmas with the Beatles comes to the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts at 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9.

The show features the award-winning tribute band, Abbey Road. The band performed with the Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown production which has performed at the Amarillo Civic numerous times in recent years.

Lone Star Ballet presents ‘The Nutcracker’

Lone Star Ballet and the Lone Star Dance Academy present their annual production of Tschaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" ballet at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10; 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10; and 2 and 6 p.m. on Sunday Dec. 11.

The story of The Nutcracker is loosely based on the E.T.A. Hoffmann fantasy story "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", about a girl who befriends a nutcracker that comes to life on Christmas Eve and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King.

'Facing the Giant' on display at AMoA

Shepard Fairey's "Facing the Giant" is on display at the Amarillo Museum of Art through Dec. 31.

"Facing the Giant" is a curated series of images chosen for their importance aesthetically and conceptually, and for addressing critical topics and themes frequently recurring throughout Fairey’s career.

The exhibition is comprised of unique screen-prints on collaged backgrounds with additional stenciling and embellishments completed in 2019.

This exhibition was organized by the Landau Traveling Exhibitions, Los Angeles in association with OBEY GIANT ART.

The museum is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. on Sundays. Admission is free.

'Mostly Hits & the Mrs' Tour stops by Jan. 28

Grammy-winning Country superstar Clint Black and his wife Lisa Hartman Black are hitting the road again for year two of the “Mostly Hits & the Mrs.” Tour with special guest Lily Pearl Black. They will be making a stop at the Amarillo Civic Center on Jan. 28, 2023.

Clint Black surged to superstardom leading the fabled Class of ’89, with five consecutive singles from his triple platinum debut album, “Killin’ Time,” reaching #1; a feat never accomplished before in any music genre. Clint and Lisa released their Grammy-nominated duet, “When I Said I Do,” in 1999, which won an Academy of Country Music Award. The two were a part of “The Masked Singer,” season 4, as the first-ever duo, “The Snow Owls.”
