Jun. 11—ALEXANDRIA — Alexandria pounded out 11 hits and two home runs en route to a 13-3 Sunshine League amateur baseball win over Corsica-Stickney on Thursday.
Seven different Angels recorded hits, including three hits and two RBIs by Michael Schoettmer. Jordan Gau smacked a three-run homer and Blank Klinkhammer belted a two-run shot in the seven-inning contest.
Adam Durfee and Chris Marek had two hits apiece, while Jed Schmidt and Jerrod Zens each had a hit. Marek added two RBIs.

For Corsica-Stickney, Luke Bamberg and Aaron Groenweg had two hits apiece. Dillon Turner and Bryce Plamp each had a hit. Gavin Zomer was tagged with the loss after allowing three hits and four earned runs in 1 2/3 innings.
Alexandria (6-1) will host Winner/Colome in a Sunshine League contest on Sunday. Corsica-Stickney (0-6) will host Dimock/Emery on Sunday in Sunshine League action.
Mount Vernon 11, Winner/Colome 10
MOUNT VERNON — Chase Hetland's walk-off single lifted Mount Vernon to a Sunshine League amateur baseball win on Thursday.
It capped off a slugest as they combined for 26 hits and Mount Vernon belted two home runs. Mount Vernon's Spencer Neugebauer and Briggs Havlik each smacked homers in the win. Neugebauer finished 3 of 5 and drove in two runs. Havlik went 2 of 4 and knocked in five runs, including a grand slam in the third inning. Hetland, Havlik and Eric Giblin had two hits apiece.
Bradley Dean, Koby Larson and Cameron Deinert each had a hit. Deric Denning pitched three innings of relief to earn the win. He finished with four strikeouts, allowed one hit and one earned run.
For Winner/Colome, Zach Harter paced the offense with four hits. Brendan Kamerzell, Austin Calhoon and Oscar Pravecek had two hits apiece. Reed Harter, Chandler Bakley, Austin Richey, J.J. Farner and Lakin Neugebauer each had a hit. Farner was tagged with the loss after giving up four hits, one earned run and recording four strikeouts in two innings.
Mount Vernon (7-1) plays at Parkston on Sunday. Winner/Colome (5-2) plays at Alexandria on Sunday.
Dimock/Emery 18, Platte 3
EMERY — Dimock/Emery exploded for 24 hits and 18 runs in a seven-inning Sunshine League amateur baseball win over Platte on Thursday.
Ten different Raptors recorded a hit, including seven with multiple hits. Peyton Nash, Sam Pischke and Sam Michels finished with four hits apiece. Pischke knocked in three runs, while Michels drove in two runs. Gene Kitchens went 3 of 5 and drove in two runs. Drew Kitchens finished with two hits and four RBIs, including a three-run homer. Jason Schmidt and Tyson Kayser each had two hits. Doug Sudbeck, Brad Bartscher and Landon Sudbeck each had a hit.
Schmidt struck out 10 batters, allowed seven hits and three earned runs in seven innings to earn the win.
For Platte, Grant Lang and Ryan Allen had two hits apiece. Lang cracked a two-run homer in the first inning. Michael Buitenbos, Hayden Kuiper and Jimmy DeWaard each had a hit. Buitenbos took the loss after surrendering 17 hits, nine earned runs and struck out five batters in four innings.
Dimock/Emery (5-3) plays at Corsica-Stickney on Sunday in another Sunshine League contest.
Platte (3-2) plays at Mount Vernon on June 17 in Sunshine League action.
Harrisburg 12, Parkston 2
PARKSTON — Parkston dropped a 10-run non-league amateur baseball game against Harrisburg on Thursday.
Jeff Harris, Zach Uttecht, Nate Doering, Dan Bonte, Dawson Semmler and Pat Harris each had a hit for the Mudcats. Dylan Mogck took the loss after allowing seven hits, seven earned runs and striking out five batters in three innings.
For Harrisburg, Sam Siegel had three hits and Tom Hill added two hits. T.J. Miller smacked a three-run homer. Bryce Ahrendt earned the win after allowing five hits, two earned runs and had one strikeout in five innings.
Parkston (3-8) hosts Mount Vernon on Sunday.
Canova 7, Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 4
CANOVA — Seven different Canova players logged hits in a Cornbelt League amateur baseball win over the Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks on Thursday.
Trey Krier and Jason Miller had two hits apiece, while Cole Gassman cracked a solo home run. Justin Miller, Garrett Gassman, Kendall Gassman and Tim Gassman each had a hit. Krier earned the win after scattering seven hits and striking out seven batters. He allowed four earned runs in five innings.
For the Gamecocks, Cameron Quigley, Cole Hellie and Tyler Renken had two hits apiece. Hellie drove in three runs and Renken belted a solo homer. Micah Warringen took the loss after giving up eight hits, six earned runs and had two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Canova (8-0) hosts Colman on Sunday in another Cornbelt League contest.
Salem 14, Madison 10
MADISON — Salem and Madison combined for 27 hits in a Cornbelt League slugfest on Thursday.
Salem finished with 13 hits, including four hits and three RBIs from Cole Cheeseman. Landon Neugebauer, Kyle Tuschen, Steve Mehlbrech and Isaac Anderson had two hits apiece. Jackson Sadler added a hit.
Mehlbrech drove in three runs, while Neugebauer and Anderson drove in two runs apiece. Sadler earned the win. He allowed 10 hits, six earned runs and struck out four batters in five innings.
Salem (3-7) plays at Dell Rapids PBR on Sunday in another Cornbelt League contest.
Plankinton Bankers 6, Kimball/White Lake 3
WHITE LAKE — Cole Knippling had four hits and Travis Gant struck out six batters to power the Plankinton Bankers to a Pony Hills League amateur baseball win over Kimball/White Lake on Thursday.
Knippling finished 4 of 5, while Sheldon Gant, Chris Hill, Trevor Boyd, Josh Engquist and Preston Kristensen each had a hit. Hill belted a solo home. Gant allowed eight hits and three earned runs through the first seven innings.
For Kimball/White Lake, Caden Lenz, Brian Zeman and Eathen Gaulke had two hits apiece. Dylanger Pierson and Zak Wallner each had a hit. Gaulke took the loss after giving up four hits and four earned runs in the first three innings.
Plankinton (5-0 Pony Hills League) plays at Miller on Sunday in league action. Kimball/White Lake (4-1 Pony Hills League) hosts Miller on June 17.
Tabor 10, Menno 4
MENNO — Seven different Tabor players combined for 10 hits in a South Central League amateur baseball win over Menno on Thursday.
Joey Slama, Austin White and Beau Rothschadl had two hits apiece. Rothschadl added three RBIs and Sam Caba drove in two runs. Chris Sutera and Zach Sutera each had hits. Bryce Scieszinski belted a solo home run for the Blue Birds.
White fanned 10 batters, allowed seven hits and four earned runs in 7 1/3 innings of relief.
For Menno, Tyler Miller had two of the seven hits. Dylan Lehr, Spencer Schultz, Caleb Preszler, Tom Sattler and Kyle Munkvold each had a hit. Max Schoenfelder took the loss for the Mad Frogs. He gave up 10 hits, 10 runs (three earned) and struck out two batters.
Tabor (2-4) hosts the Yankton Tappers on Sunday in another South Central League contest. Menno hosts Irene on Sunday in a league action.
