Amateur baseball roundup for June 26: Nate Doering, Jeff Harris help Parkston hold off Corsica/Stickney

Jun. 27—PARKSTON, S.D. — Offense was in ample supply at The Pond, as Parkston and Corsica/Stickney produced 32 total runs on 31 hits, including six home runs, with the home Mudcats outlasting the visiting Horned Frogs, 19-13, on Sunday night.

After a pair of early three-run innings by the Mudcats, Corsica/Stickney briefly tied the game at 6-6 in the fourth frame. However, six-run outbursts in the fifth and sixth innings proved too much for the Horned Frogs to keep pace with in the high-scoring affair.

Nate Doering's perfect 6-for-6 night featuring two doubles and a home run paced Parkston, while Jeff Harris tacked on a 3-for-4 outing that included a double, a triple and six runs batted in. Billy Hamilton drove in three runs, with Landon Sudbeck and Dawson Semmler — the Mudcats' other home run hitter in the contest — adding two apiece. Jake Weber struck out six and walked two in a seven-inning start.

For Corsica/Stickney, Ryan Buck went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs, as Aaron Groeneweg added four RBIs of his own on a sixth-inning grand slam.
