Amateur golf: Anderson grabs Stroke Play Championship at Eagle Creek

Jul. 25—WILLMAR — Jim Anderson emerged as the champion of the 2022 Stroke Play Championship on Sunday at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

Anderson shot an even-par 72, then had a 36 over nine holes to finish at 108. That was one stroke better than Matt Gorans, who had rounds of 75 and 34 for 109.

Three players tied for third. Pete Hannig, Andy Jacobson and Joey Wisocki all shot 110s at the one-day event.

Jim Schrammel won the senior division with an 80. Lori Jacobson shot a 76 to win the women's division.
