Amateur video captures fast-moving fire in central Utah

STORY: The Halfway Hill fire, outside Fillmore, Utah, about 145 miles (233 km) south of Salt Lake City, began on Friday and has burned at least 500 acres, according to the Utah Division of Fire, Forestry, and State Lands.

The fire, whose cause is under investigation, was discovered around 1400 local time (20GMT) and was one of several fires that erupted in Millard County on the same day.

Firefighters made aerial flights to spray the area with flame retardant and ordered nearby evacuations.

With temperatures expected to reach 92 degrees F (33 C), the National Weather Service has placed the area under a red flag warning because of high temperatures, strong wind and low humidity.
