Amazon donates to Police Activities League

Dec. 13—E-commerce giant Amazon gave $10,000 to the Police Activities League in Bakersfield last week, and its employees donated more than 200 Hot Wheel toys and a new racetrack, as part of a partnership between the two organizations.

Santa joined in by visiting with children and passing out candy canes as the gifts were presented Thursday to PAL, a nonprofit providing educational and athletic programs to at-risk youth.
