When we tested the latest model of the Echo Show 5, one improvement we noted between it and its first-generation model was its front-facing camera located on its top right. Upgrading from 1 megapixel to 2 megapixels produced ever-so-slightly sharper and clearer image quality on video calls and home security footage. The camera and its accompanying microphone can be disabled using the integrated camera shutter privacy controls on the top of the device, if you need a spot of privacy or want to conserve energy.
