Amazon Fresh grocery opens in Westlake Village
An Amazon Fresh grocery store has opened in Westlake Village, the chain's 40th site.
The store's grand opening began Thursday and will last through Sunday with Amazon coffee giveaways, free smoothie samples, discounts and more.
The grocery is located at 140 Promenade Way in the Promenade at Westlake outdoor shopping center. That's in the Thousand Oaks portion of Westlake Village.
The approximately 33,000-square-foot supermarket offers an assortment of national brands, as well as prepared foods made fresh in-store.

The facility offers both traditional and cashier-less checkout. The Just Walk Out Technology can be started upon entrance. The technology tallies the customer's items as they're dropped into the shopping cart, and the transaction is finalized upon exit.
It's open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The opening creates hundreds of jobs, according to Amazon. The starting hourly wage for workers is $16.40. To apply, go to hiring.amazon.com.
The store will be donating surplus food to local food banks.
