Before Amazon fulfills orders in Alcoa, it must fill jobs. Here's one new way to get hired

As Amazon prepares to open its Alcoa fulfillment facility, the online retail giant will first open a hiring office at Foothills Mall in Maryville.

The company is looking for hundreds of workers to fill receiving, packing and sorting jobs, according to a news release.

Starting July 5, anyone seeking a job can visit the mall for in-person hiring events during the following grand-opening hours:

  • July 5: 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

  • July 6: 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

  • July 7: 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

  • July 8: 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p. m.

Beginning July 9, the center will operate under regular hours: 9 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6p.m. on Sunday. All times are subject to change.

When will the Amazon fulfillment facility open?

The 635,000-square-foot facility will pull, pack and ship small items such as books, electronics and consumer goods.

Amazon announced the Alcoa facility in February 2021, and it is expected to open this summer after facing several delays. The facility originally was slated to open by October 2022.
