My first impressions
As someone who considers themselves a bit of a winter sweater aficionado, I was skeptical this sweater could really be as good as the reviews said. Owning a similar sweater from an expensive brand, I placed the order, considering it research for my sweater-weather expert status.
When it arrived, I was pleased by the feel and weight of the garment — it felt more luxe than the $65 price tag. While this sweater is called a turtleneck, I'd say it has more of a mock neckline, which I personally find more flattering and comfortable to wear.
The Amazon listing mentions you could wear this sweater as a dress as well — and while it definitely has a longer silhouette, I think it would be too short as a dress. I'm 5'2" and definitely couldn't get away with wearing this turtleneck without some form of pant or legging. When it comes to sizing, I'd recommend sizing down one or two for a more flattering, relaxed fit. If you're looking for a majorly oversized look, take your regular size.
While this sweater was initially soft right out of the package, I think it has only gotten better with washing. Despite the more structured style, this sweater has a gentle malleability that makes it essentially effortless in any outfit whether you're tucking or letting it hang loose. As someone who avoids the batwing sleeve style, I was pleasantly surprised that the dropped sleeve was quite minor, overall making the fit even more flattering.
