UPDATE: Amber Alert canceled after missing 5-year-old KY girl found safe

An Amber Alert was issued for 5-year-old Princeton, Kentucky girl Lela Black Monday morning after Kentucky State Police say she was likely taken by her father, Byron Black, who is wanted in the shooting death of the girl's mother.
An Amber Alert was issued for 5-year-old Princeton, Kentucky girl Lela Black Monday morning after Kentucky State Police say she was likely taken by her father, Byron Black, who is wanted in the shooting death of the girl's mother.

An Amber Alert for a Kentucky child who went missing after her mother was found dead Sunday has been canceled and she has been found safe.

Lela Black, 5, was believed to have been taken by her biological father, 42-year-old Byron Black.

According to a post from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, police responded to a home in Princeton, Kentucky, Sunday and found a woman, 42-year-old Kelly Black, dead from a gunshot wound to the back of the head.

Neither Lela nor her father had been seen since Friday.

An arrest warrant for Byron Black had been issued in connection with the woman's death and he was believed to be armed and dangerous. State troopers announced he is now in custody.
