Amber Alert for missing 9-year-old taken from Belleville home is cancelled

An Amber Alert issued following the alleged abduction of a Belleville 9-year-old has been canceled.

The child has been recovered and the suspect, a non-custodial relative, has been taken into custody, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The Missouri Highway Patrol sent the alert early Friday morning, asking residents to keep an eye out for a black 2006 Dodge Charger with Illinois license plates DW62016. It was last seen on River City Casino Boulevard in St. Louis at about 4:45 a.m., according to authorities at the time.

The alert alleged Ryan Charlton, 31, took 9-year-old Violet Charlton from a home on Mathilda Drive in Belleville. He also assaulted another family member, the alert stated.

The 9-year-old is about 4-foot-11 and 100 pounds with blonde hair an blue eyes. She was wearing a teal T-shirt and pink shorts.

Ryan Charlton is 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing black and gray athletic shorts.
