AMegaMillions ticket worth $20K was sold in CT, jackpot jumps to $1.55 billion

Aug. 7—The winning numbers for the Aug. 4 drawing were as follows: 11-30-45-52-56, with a Megaball number 20 and Megaplier 2X.

Because the winning ticket is over $5,000, it must be claimed in-person at the Connecticut Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill. Per the organization's website, winners must provide two forms of signed identification, one of which must be a photo ID.

The $20,000 winning Mega Millions ticket comes as the lottery game's jackpot climbs to $1.55 billion, the largest in Mega Millions history and the third-largest for any lottery jackpot ever, according to CBS. The jackpot can be won by matching all five numbers and the Megaball number. The last Mega Millions jackpot was in April. The next Mega Millions drawing will be held Tuesday.

In addition to a $1 million Powerball ticket sold and claimed in Enfield last month, more than 20 lottery tickets worth more than $50,000 each were sold in the Nutmeg State in July.
