Ameren aims to provide $205M in rebates and incentives until 2027
ST. LOUIS – Ameren has filed a proposal with the Missouri Public Service Commission, which would provide $205 million in rebates and incentives through 25 programs for Ameren residential and business customers.
The amended plan includes $70 million for income-eligible customers and social service agencies, according to a Friday news release.
Programs will begin in 2025 and run until 2027 if the Public Service Commission approves the proposal.
“Through this proposed three-year investment, all of our customers have a wide variety of opportunities to save money on their energy costs,” Mark Birk, chairman and president of Ameren Missouri, said. “Reducing these costs can significantly help our most vulnerable customers.”

The group of programs is operated under the Missouri Energy Efficient Investment Act, which aims to assist customers in using energy more efficiently, educate them on having more control over their energy, and expand programs to increase participation.
Ameren intends to save over 800,000 megawatt-hours of electricity with the plan, which is comparable to the annual energy consumption of 67,000 average-sized Missouri homes.
“Ameren Missouri is committed to empowering our customers to use their energy more efficiently while saving money at the same time,” Tara Oglesby, vice president of economic, community and business development at Ameren Missouri, said. “Also, by expanding our programs for social service agencies, they can focus even more of their resources to improve the communities they serve.”
Income-eligible initiatives are included in the proposal, along with plans to partner with Spire Energy for additional benefits and savings.
Another program included is a residential demand response program, which is designed for those with smart thermostats to decrease consumption during peak usage time within the Ameren Missouri system.
