Jane Marczewski, a singer who had a star-making appearance on “America’s Got Talent,” has died from complications of cancer.

According to TMZ, the 31-year-old Marczewski died Sunday after the cancer spread to several areas of her body, including her lungs and spine.

The singer, nicknamed “Nightbirde,” stepped away from “AGT” during the season last summer to start receiving treatment, leaving after advancing to the show’s quarterfinals.

“Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention. I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT. Life doesn’t always give breaks to those that deserve it — but we knew that already,” she wrote on Instagram in August.

Marczewski was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 and went into remission but it returned in a more aggressive form in 2021.

Marczewski is the latest “America’s Got Talent” performer to die. In December 2021, Skilyr Hicks died in South Carolina of a suspected drug overdose. Around Thanksgiving 2021, Jay Jay Phillips died from complications of COVID-19.
